5 Things: July & October Editions

Yep, it's true.  I forgot all about July.  There are so many things to like about July, too.  So, I'm going to tell you about TEN awesome things. :-P

1. S'mores Cake.  WOW!
2. Super Chic Pumpkin (if one ever existed - this would be it!)
3. Apple Cupcake with Caramel Buttercream (I can't wait to make these!)
4. Puppies and kids in cute costumes (It's my whole "Cute Little Things" board - I couldn't decide!)
5. Cheap, easy, and pretty wall art
6. Want to go shopping?  A dressy look (black & blue).
7. A casual look (in gray).
8. Career girl look (blue & yellow & white).
9. I'd love to have that ocean blue quote on my wall.
10. The Bible is a great book to quote. :-P  Love the retro feel. 
11. One more!  I'd love to see the Northern Lights. :)

5 Things: September Edition

1. OPI's Bastille My Heart - just bought it!
2. TOMS shoes - I don't own a pair (yet), but maybe someday soon.  I'm torn between the red wedge and the red flats.
3. My new Food Network Dutch Oven.  I bought it red (tomato) and of course didn't pay that much for it. :)  I recommend getting the 5 1/2 quart versus the larger or smaller.  If you go smaller, you won't be able to fit much in there, and if you go larger, you may not be able to lift it!
4. This recipe for Peach-Whiskey BBQ Chicken made in the aforementioned new dutch oven!
5. I had an absolutely delicious meal at Scholars Inn while shooting a wedding in Bloomington last week.  The Rocket Salad (see photo) was fantastic, and I think you should try it sometime. :)

Day 508

5 Things: August Edition:

1. I made this pie for the first time this month.  I'll be making it again, don't you fret.  Super yummy!
2. My everyday tinted moisturizer.  It keeps up with my ever-changing summer skin tone.  (This is the good stuff I'd like to buy.  I'm waiting until I use up what I have first!)
3. Wrapping up this book by Emily Giffen.  I'm definitely going to read her other novels.  Can't wait to see the movie!
4. I was finally able to afford a pair of BORN shoes (rewards certificate + clearance rack at DSW, thank you very much).  Excited to wear them once autumn arrives!  Very similar to these shoes!
5. The Indiana State Fair has now come to a close for this year.  I am SO happy that I got to go and not only indulge in some terrible-for-me-but-oh-so-tasty "dinner" choices, but also to just have a night where I felt like a kid again.  Mmm, deep fried cookie dough...

Day 452

5 Things I Love - June Edition:

• The tiny roller bottle of Juicy Couture perfume that Kristen included in our bridesmaid gift bag.
• Toms red canvas slip on shoes - I can't wait to buy a pair!
• Sara Evans and her new song "A Little Bit Stronger"
• New York & Company - their clothes make me feel classy.
• Strawberry Bruschetta - yum!

Day 397

Ten things I'm pumped about: April & May edition!

1. Adele's new album, "21."  <3 
2. NKOTBSB concert in July!  My inner tween rejoices!
3. The Tasty Kitchen blog - especially these sandwiches that I made for Kristen's bridal shower on Sunday.
4. I'm on a quest to find the best French Martini in Indy.  I found a lovely one in Nashville, TN at Cabana, and have yet to find one to match it.  
5. Fuzzy, funky socks.  I especially enjoy these (and have this exact pair).  My feet get cold in "spring."  Ha, spring, where is it?
6. Evite.  I hadn't been on in years, but have now found myself using it again as a guest and a hostess.  It's great and very user-friendly!
7. Kings of Leon, especially "Come Around Sundown." I'm finding it quite melodic tonight as I write this and edit wedding photos.  :) 
8. Monon Food Company.  I feel like I pass by it all the time while in Broad Ripple, but I've never been in for a meal.  I think Ryne and I are going to have to have a date night there. 
9. Spring flowers and my garden!  This year, in addition to the perennials planted within the last 2 years, I also have some b-e-a-utiful Rembrandt tulips.  I'm also growing cilantro, rosemary, and thyme.  In another pot I've got sunflowers, some starter lilac bushes (from the Arbor Day Foundation), and an assortment of seeds from a cutting garden packet.  I can't hardly wait until it's all in full bloom!
10. Babies and weddings.  Which came first?  Ha!  I'm attending and photographing a ton of weddings this summer.  I've also got a new cute little man to cuddle with whenever his momma and I are hanging out.  Too bad I don't have any good pictures of him yet, or I'd post them here! :) 

Day 360

5 Things I Like: March Edition
(I'm sure you've just been dying to read this. :-P )

  

1. Le Creuset cookware.  If I ever get one of these, I'm sure it'll be awesome!
2. Butler basketball.  March Madness is alive and well!  I've got to support the last hometown team in the tournament. 
3. K&Company paper.  I would wallpaper with this stuff if I could...or if I had a wall in need of decoration. 
4. Early Sunrise candle by Yankee Candle.  It's a little bit of citrus with comfy laundry.  Awesome. 
5. Vitamin Water XXX.  I try not to drink it too often since it's full of sugar, but it's a great substitute for pop!  Plus, I like to live under the illusion that it actually has some health benefits.

Day 309

5 Things I'm Lovin' in February:

• Etsy - I got some aweeeesome custom made bridal shower invitations from a vendor on Etsy, and I can't wait to get them in the mail so I can send them out! :) 
• OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight nail polish - makes me feel like I'm a chic city girl. 
• Lindt Lindor Raspberry Truffles - chocolate + raspberry, need I say more? 
• Olive Garden's Chicken Parmesan - I'd never tried this before last summer, and now I can't wait to try and make it myself. I just had some the other day, and it was so tasty!
• Birmingham, AL & Nashville, TN - heading to Birmingham tomorrow with Ryne to see Kristen and Eric!  Then, we're heading to Nashville for a Vandy basketball game, woo hoo!  

Day 282

I have a list of 50 goals for 2011, and one of them is to start posting about 5 things I'm interested in/currently drooling over each month.  Here's this month's edition:

1. As crazy as this girl is, Ke$ha makes me want to throw on some glitter and go dancin'!  This song is my current favorite. 
2. These are adorable and would look lovely...in my bathroom?  Hmm...

4. Anne Taintor magnets - so sassy; naturally, I love it. 
5. Dear summer sunshine and warm weather, where are you?  I would love to wear this dress!
