All the things that I've seen
And all the things that I've dreamed
You can't take away from me
'Cause life is like a slideshow
------------------------------------------
Day 153.  I am so slow when it comes to grocery shopping.  I probably stood there in the aisle for 5 minutes trying to choose a salsa, and then again when trying to pick a pasta sauce.  Don't go shopping when you're hungry, it makes everything go slower.  The good news is that I got "The Backup Plan" from redbox, and I was entertained.
P.S. I l-o-v-e this picture!  It reminds me of how blessed I was to go on such a fabulous vacation with my friends.

Penny likes to get away and drown her pain in lemonade
Penny dreams of rainy days and nights up late by the fireplace
And aimless conversations  about the better days
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 152.  You should pay attention to the box when it says that drowsiness may occur.  It happens.  It took me awhile to figure out why I was so sluggish today ... then the light bulb lit up.

Sunday, August 29, 2010

You are the best thing that's ever been mine.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Day 151.  Festival clean up, check.  Movie + nap + lunch, check.  Wedding consult, check.  Alex's senior pictures part 2, check.  Laundry, check (in progress).  Sleep, __?__ what's that?  Ha!  I'll get there eventually!  This weekend was full of so much fun, the practical necessities like laundry got skipped.  Eh, that's what weekdays are for, right?  Right.

weddings galore!

I often stumble across lots of wedding information when perusing photography websites.  I decided to add it all into my blog for my friends that may or may not choose to utilize it.  I'm just going to keep updating it forever.  Perhaps I'll use it myself one day. :oP   Make sure you check out my first post with tons of links.  Currently, I have 6 friends that are engaged to be married, so I've got to keep all of this info straight somewhere!

New info:

(I'll add more later!)

Round my hometown
Memories are fresh
Round my hometown
Ooh the people I've met
--------------------------------------
Day 150.  Day 3 (last day) of the festival was great!  We were blessed with yet another warm, dry day of weather.  I was running around all night, but still got to ride a few rides and eat some good food.  I think the best part of the night was riding the ferris wheel right at sunset.  I got to take pictures of the whole festival from the top, sit down, and just have a few minutes to say hi to Ryne.  It was lovely.  Funniest part of the night was going down the slide with Ginger at about 11:00pm.  She caught some air on one of the bumps, and the way she told me she got air cracked me up.  The festival is great, but I think my whole family is glad it's over.  We're all worn out!

Friday, August 27, 2010

I've had that song in my head all day
----------------------------------------------------
Day 149.  Day 2 of the festival = success!  Woo hoo!  I love Ginny's chocolate cake.  It. is. heavenly!

Thursday, August 26, 2010

Remember those walls I built?
Well, baby they're tumbling down
-------------------------------------------------------
Day 148.  I got inquiries about 3 different photography sessions (two of which I've never done before) all within a few hours.  Not a bad way to end a (not so great) day!  In case you were wondering the three types were: trash the dress, maternity, and destination wedding!  I truly believe that God works in mysterious ways.

When everything is goin' wrong
Don't worry it won't last for long
-------------------------------------------------
Day 147.  Working late sucks, but flexing the time out to leave work early on Friday = WIN!  I'm pumped.

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

We're on our way, this time around
-----------------------------------------------
Day 146.  Having breakfast for dinner totally rocks.  :o)

Monday, August 23, 2010

That was a crazy game of poker
-----------------------------------------------
Day 145.  I love walking outside the doors at work and seeing the sun shine and feeling the warm air.  Trying to not think about how fast fall is approaching our fair state.

Sunday, August 22, 2010

You may be king, you may possess the world and its gold
But gold won't bring you happiness when you're growing old
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 144.  Ryne & I volunteered in the pork tent today (on the last day) at the Indiana State Fair.  The income from our time working went to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation of Indiana.  The forecast was that it was going to be a pretty slow day, but it was pretty steady during our whole shift.  We got a free lunch, too!  We tried the deep fried cookie dough, and it was so good!  I think it's best though that I don't know how to make it myself.

Your words walk right through my ears
Presuming I like what I hear
---------------------------------------------
Day 143.  I went out ON A BOAT with Ryne and some friends today.  Morse was practically empty due to a few mild showers.  Great for us though, since half of the group went water skiing and tubing.  Little Ike went swimming with his little life vest on.  It was so cute!  He's about 5 pounds soaking wet.  When they got him out of the water, I had to wrap him up in a beach towel so he wouldn't freeze to death.  He looked like a little baby.  Later on, I had some delicious Vanilla Creme Brulee at Corner Wine Bar, in addition to some really good white wine from Austria!

Sitting across the bar, staring right at her prey,
It's going well so far, she's gonna get her way
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 142.  Retail therapy totally works.

Thursday, August 19, 2010

A masquerade, a love parade
So won't you stay and dance with me
All through the night and day
-----------------------------------------------
Day 141.  I don't personally have DVR (or cable), but I know someone who does. ;o)  I really like that you can fast forward through the commercials and "tape" shows.  Even if you miss an episode, you can find it on the guide and then tape it.  So cool!  Samantha Brown's Asia series on the Travel Channel and Pawn Stars are our current favorites to record and watch.  Yes, we're nerds!

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

I've been a lot of places all around the way
I've seen a lot of joy and I've seen a lot of pain
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 140.  Wedding consult, check.  Drank too much Coke, check.  Said goodbye to my BFF for 4 months, check (she'll be home for Christmas).  Did a little wedding discussion with Kristen, as per my (totally awesome) COMOH (co-maid of honor) duties, check.  Emotionally confused because I'm happy and sad, check.

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Oh, I just gotta know
When you gonna come home?
--------------------------------------------------------
Day 139.  Tonight, I went to Olive Garden for dinner with my family, Bridget, and Ryne.  Grandpa thought we should all get together with Bridget one last time before she leaves for Honduras.  I'm glad we could all go eat together, because we were cracking up!  After dinner, Bridge and I went to see "Eat Pray Love."  We chatted for a bit (no big surprise there!) and then did our last hugs until Christmas time.  Bridge's contact in Honduras had better be right about her having a good enough internet connection for Skype usage.  If not, I'm going to lose it.  I'm totally banking on being able to have phone-like conversations on a weekly (if not more) basis.  Let's hope she's right.  Maybe she'll even have enough power to have video chats!  That would be awesome.  We didn't cry at all.  She almost started, but I made her stop.  It won't hit me until I go to call her about something and I can't.  Oh man, not looking forward to that.  I remember doing that all the time when she was in Kenya.  Why does my BFF have to be so cool and travel the world?  She's pretty amazing, and I can't wait to hear about everything.  I told her that this is going to change her in ways we can't predict, but it's going to be great.  Please say a BIG prayer for her ... that she gets there safely, that she has peace / doesn't have 12 panic attacks, has great roommates, doesn't get sick at all, and has a great class of students to teach.

Fine, fresh, fierce
We got it on lock
----------------------------------------
Day 138.  I spent most of today in an airport or on an airplane.  I learned a few things: I appreciate Starbucks and their delicious hot chocolate more when that's the only real option around.  I get cold on planes and should always wear pants and bring a jacket (and was so happy I did that).  I really don't mind sleeping through snack time, since I almost always just put it in my bag for later.   I like flying on Southwest because then I can choose to sit next to the fun business lady and man, rather than the sleepy older person that might snore a bunch and have bit of eau de stinky.  All in all, it was a good day.  I made it home safely, and got to go to dinner with my momma, grandpa, and boyfriend.  This one's pretty darn awesome, I might just have to keep him. ;o)

Me and my homies, so drop that
We rollin' on twenties, with the top back
---------------------------------------------------------
Day 137.  Today, we went to Broken Yolk for breakfast after church.  Dave went up and put his name in for a table for us, and was told 10-15 minutes.  Nathan, the regular, goes up and we have a table immediately.  That's awesome.  Later, we went to the park with Jack and played frisbee, then went to the mall for some shopping (they ate more food) and a movie.  We saw "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World."  I can't believe it's already time to go home!

Saturday, August 14, 2010

Be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 136.  Currently, I'm sitting in Nathan's sweet condo/apartment and enjoying a few glasses of cosmo mix from the grocery store.  I'm an adult, so I can do what I want.  I think it's funny though, that they encourage me to drink my big kid drinks, then make fun of me later.  Boys, boys, boys.  We're playing lots of rummy, and I'm kicking lots of butt along the way.  Bagel sandwiches are so delicious. I think we're going to go eat dinner soon, but have no idea where.  I have no idea what's going on tomorrow, either.  It's so weird to not know what's going on...it's so opposite of me.  I'm just trying to relax and have fun on my little mini vacation with the boys.  Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Acting stupid, getting drunk with my best friends
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 135.  Pacific Beach, San Diego....we're there!!! <--- that was a Dumb & Dumber reference.  Playing lots of rummy, drinking, and eating foooooood.

Thursday, August 12, 2010

Pastel trailer park, stars so bright to hide the dark
All is quiet in the yard
--------------------------------
Day 134.  I'm currently sitting here in the Indy airport, waiting to board my flight to San Diego.  Technology and aviation = awesome, because if I had to drive there, Nathan, Dave, and I probably wouldn't see each other more than once every few years.  Way to go, Wright brothers.  Win!

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

Be good to me, be good to me,
I need you now more than ever, ohhhh
--------------------------------------------------------------
Day 133.  Tonight, a bunch of us went to Crackers Comedy Club for a show.  We got in for free ... I know people ... they hooked us up.  Ok, I won a free party, but that sounded way cooler, right?  Love spending time with my friends, especially Miss Bridget and Ryne, of course.  :o)

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

I'm feeling yummy head to toe
-----------------------------------------------
Day 132.  I'm just a bakin', packin', cleanin' fool tonight.  Don't worry, I rewarded myself with a freshly baked cookie. :-P
P.S. That piece of pie was absolutely delicious, and you can find your very own slice at your local T.G.I. Friday's.

Monday, August 9, 2010

All this time we were waiting for each other
All this time I was waiting for you
-------------------------------------------------------
Day 131.  I really lead such a blessed life.  I try to say "thank you" to all of my family and friends that make it so great as I go, but I know I miss people all the time.  Thank you, friend, for taking the time to read / look at my blog.  It makes me feel special. :o)

Sunday, August 8, 2010

Like an apple on a tree
Hiding out behind the leaves
I was difficult to reach
But you picked me
-----------------------------------
Day 130.  Today I was in Lanesville at a church picnic/festival type event with Ryne, Colleen (his sister), and his mom.  I won $15 playing bingo, woo hoo!  We also came back with three cakes...one of which is a new favorite: butter recipe + caramel icing.  Smells like a donut, tastes like heaven.  Mmm mmm good!  Why is that at Ryne's and the strawberry cake is here at my house?  Seems so opposite...

Saturday, August 7, 2010

Hush, hush don't tell me, tell me cause it hurts
------------------------------------------------------------------
Day 129.  Today was Bridget's super secret surprise party.  After my first (failed) attempt at a surprise party/game night for Bridge, everyone knew that they'd better keep their mouths shut.  Everyone kept quiet and she had NO clue whatsoever that we were all behind the doors in the hall.  It was aweeeeesome!  I still can't believe she's going to be gone for 10 months...ahhhh!

Friday, August 6, 2010

It's hard to figure out your next move
One minute here, the next you're gone
-----------------------------------------------------------
Day 128.  Tonight we had Girls Night Out.  However, it was actually Ana's surprise bachelorette party!  She was totally surprised and we had SUCH a good time out in Broad Ripple.

Thursday, August 5, 2010

And I can't turn back now
'Cause you've brought me too far
---------------------------------------------------
Day 127.  Devour Downtown is totally awesome.  I love it!  Ten of us went to Scotty's tonight for dinner,  sat outside, listened to a live band, and mingled with the Gen Con folk.

Wednesday, August 4, 2010

I can watch Good Will Hunting by myself
I can shop for clothes without her help
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Day 126.  I like the show "Greek."  It's pretty good.  Indiana's in the middle of a crazy heat wave.  I'm talking about a heat index of 100+ degrees and a literal temperature of 97 degrees.  Hot, hot, hot!

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

You've got to find out for yourself whether or not you're truly trying
Why not give it a shot?
--------------------------------
Day 126.  You know what I had for dinner?  You don't know, so stop guessing!  I had Mother Bear's pizza  for dinner!  It's from Saturday night, and I don't even care.  It's still delicious.  No one does BBQ chicken pizza better than them.  Mmm, mmm good.  My San Diego trip is sneaking up on me!  It's next week, ahhh!  I'm so pumped!  Planning and paying for a vacation months in advance is the best thing I do for myself.

Monday, August 2, 2010

I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise
--------------------------------------------------
Day 125.  Bridget and I got some good quality time in tonight while watching "The Bachelorette" finale.  Still blows me away that she's going to be living in Honduras in just a few weeks.  Thank goodness she's got a better internet situation, so we can talk on skype!  Whew!  Otherwise, I'm not sure how I'd be without her for TEN months.

Sunday, August 1, 2010

Everybody let go, we can make a dance floor
Just like a circus
-------------------------
Day 124.  I'm sick, but finished watching season 6 of "Entourage." Woooo.  I should've invested in whatever umbrella company owns Kleenex long ago...I'd be rich!
