Tonight, we had a big ol' family + friends dinner. It was awesome. I have two requirements/requests for my next house: room in a basement for a home theater and a big old dining room table big enough for me to have dinner parties. I have them now, but they don't work so well when everyone is spread out. Having a wine cooler would just be over the top, if that's what you were thinking. Let's not be ridiculous.

I made some strawberry shortcakes tonight for the fam. They were so good! I've missed fresh strawberries, and I'm glad I got to use up some of my Bisquick. It was one of those "I think I'm out of this, so I'll buy another box," kind of things ... and it happened twice. Lots o' Bisquick, so come on over for pancakes, biscuits, shortcakes, etc. haha. :oP

When our beloved Colts were up against the Saints for the big game a few months ago, I decided to make something special. I was invited to a Super bowl party, and figured I'd take something sweet and festive. The color didn't come out exactly as I'd hoped it would, but they were tasty and still a vibrant blue. Maybe I'll get the color a little closer next season. Gooooo Colts!

In my opinion, Boyz II Men's "II" is one of the best r&b albums ever created. It's not even the hit singles that I love. It's just a mellow masterpiece. It was also one of the first cassettes I ever owned, along with Mariah Carey's "Merry Christmas" album.

By no means do I wish for it to be winter for one more day, but part of me wishes it was Christmas again. That's the time of year when I get to have a giant friends reunion. This isn't a sappy, tearful "ahhh booo hoooo..." kind of thing, but more like a "dang it, I miss your face!" kind of thing. Dearest friends scattered around the country, come home soon. I'll make you some cupcakes. For that matter, Indy friends - come on over, I'll make some cupcakes for you, too.
