Day 861

Recently, I've rediscovered the awesomeness of my own backyard.  I was reading outside on the porch, got too hot (direct sun), and carried one of my super awesome neon blue chairs under a tree and continued to read (here's the key) in the shaaaaade.  It was pretty glorious.  C'mon over with your book of the week and we'll create our own little book nook reading area.

Day 860

I was so big and mature today.  If you know me well, you know that's not my go-to reaction when faced with something that makes me unhappy.  (In a small voice) Yay me!

So, I'm not "wishing-my-life-away," but I am very excited for the day when I can chill on a front porch, in a comfy rocker, doing trendy-craft-of-the-decade, surrounded by my husband, kids, and a pet or two.  I know, I know, "quit wishing you were old."  Shush, I say.  I'm pumped about having a family of my own.  (Then I'll probably wish I had my peace and quiet again like in my 20s. :-P )

Day 859

My house is 100% completely clean.  This is a very strange feeling, especially since I didn't have a party last night.  (My house is always inevitably at its best after I clean up from a party.)  Can someone come and visit me to admire the cleanliness and take in the smell of the garlic I cooked up for last night's bruschetta?  Call first. :oP

Oh, did that word, bruschetta, catch your attention?  I made this one (with garden fresh tomatoes) and have no need to look further for alternate versions.  The group I was with raved about it, and it was pretty easy to make, too!

Day 858

I'm so pumped for tonight!  Good company, good wine, good music...all outside.  It's going to be lovely.

Those weeds outside got pulled, so now I have to concentrate on the inside of my house.  I'll be great as long as I can stop sneezing long enough to pick things up!

It's FRIIIIIIIIIIDAY!  Unfortunately, someone's car was broken into this afternoon at work.  For some reason, that meant that we all had to leave together a half an hour early.  Works for me.  Project: CLEAN HOUSE resumes now!

Day 856

Despite the heat wave, the weeds are still growing.  Argh.  It's time for them to move to the back field and out of my sight!  Catch ya later, alligators...I'm off to rid my garden and driveway of weeds.

I'm looking forward to Saturday night.  Good people, good wine, good music.  It's going to be rad.

Working out sucks so bad when I'm in the middle of it, but makes me feel so much better when it's done.  Ahh...

Day 852

Well, after a weekend of death and sadness, I'd set out to just kick butt and get so much done today.  My body had other plans, so I spent most of the day in bed doing super exciting things like watching "Private Practice" on hulu.  Thankfully, after a nap, medicine, and a good dinner, I was feeling up for some yard work.  Better late (in the day) than never.

Brie: (3) 5 gallon buckets.  Weeds: 0
A little sunshine, fresh air, and weed-pulling can do wonders for my mood. :)

I'm strangely optimistic about this week, despite everything.  The Lord works in many mysterious ways.
