Life is full of surprises.  Some are good, some are bad, some are just confusing.  I had really good start to my weekend, but am now feeling ... kinda lost.  Taking Lent to try and refocus my life.  Figure out what's going on with me, then maybe try dating again.  Who knows, maybe I'll figure a few things out. At the very least, I'll get some good prayers in.  Hope you all had a lovely weekend, especially if you're one of four couple friends that are/were on the road this weekend.  I'm pumped for this summer's wedding gigs, vacations, and work trips!

For those of you that know me, what makes me happy (outside of babies, hugs, good men, and food)?

Photography and/or our photography business is the correct answer!  So, after my not-so-hot weekend filled with things that made me feel ... less than stellar, I needed a pick-me-up.  (I don't know why I'm all about the hyphens today.)  Dave (hi, Dave!) apparently knew and started gmail chatting with me which definitely improved my mood last night.  Then, today, I got yet another wedding request for this summer.  How cool is that?!  So far, I'm up to 2 friend wedding requests and 1 maternity session.  It's only January 7th, kids.  I'm lovin' this.

I've said it before.  I'll say it again.  Life is about the simple things.  Figure out what makes you happy and celebrate it!

I'm just going on with everyday life.  I feel bad.  I'm supposed to be processing all of these emotions and feelings and I just ... can't.  I wouldn't normally see my Ohio again until maybe Easter, since the holidays are so jam packed with events where our paths cross.  I know when I go to Ohio and see Grandma without Grandpa that it'll probably hit me.  My parents are already there working with everyone to make arrangements.  I want to say all of the cliche things like "this isn't fair!" but I can't.

Monica said something so beautiful today, I just know it's how things are supposed to be:
"Just think of all those little angels from Connecticut who got to see Santa yesterday!"

How can I be sad when I know he went quickly, (hopefully) painlessly, and is now up in Heaven playing Santa for all of those kids like he loved to do?  I can't.  He's with my Grandma Pat and all of those little kids from the shooting in Connecticut.  It's beautiful.
