I appreciate vintage style, photography, travel, fresh flowers, and the art of baking.

Day 892
I was at the Hyatt downtown today for 12 hours. Surprisingly, it went by pretty quickly. Perhaps the complimentary massage and manicure helped pass the time? You betcha! We're calling that my "lunch hour." I randomly ran into two friends there: Louie from Dave & Teresa's wedding and Lauren from IU (freshman year)! That's been happening a decent amount this summer, and I like it. Fun blasts from the past!

Day 891
It drives me nuts that we never know if our fitness trainer is going to stay or go. They won't just renew is contract for a year; it's up for renewal every 5 or 10 weeks. Ridiculous! Everyone loves it and he's great to us ... seems like a no brainer.

Day 890
Night #2 of the SMS Cruise party thing. They decided to spring for some champagne and decorations, which was good. I'd say they were having a good time since the people that showed up at the beginning stayed the whole time (2 hours) and 3 bottles of champagne were gone within the first half hour! They're going to have a fun time. :)

Day 889
Night #1 of the WZPL Smiley Cruise document pick up party. Not the best turn out, but tomorrow will be better.

Day 888
You know that totally pathetic feeling of being tired from not doing anything? That's me today. Long work week ahead, so the only time to use up comp time is today - half day. Bleh. I know, I'm a weirdo. Most of us would rejoice to have some time off. I think I need enough time off to actually GO somewhere (TEXAS)!
Found this on Pinterest and thought I'd share.

Day 887
Sunday, the day of REST! I left church earlier this afternoon and most things were done, woo hoo! I'm pretty sure my parents and the other volunteers are all at home napping right about now. So thankful we had 3 good weather days (as opposed to MudFest 2009).

Day 886
Another great night at the festival; more relaxed, too! I finally made it out on a few rides - a necessity at the festival!

Day 882
It's always amazing to me how a day can start out feeling pretty normal, go up, down, around, and (seemingly) every direction. The ending hours have been awesome. Festival set up is happening all week, so I took my little munchkins for a spin on the golf cart so they could check out the rides not visible from grandma and grandpa's house (2 doors from church). I got lots of hugs. :) Ending the day making some cookie dough truffles. Hopefully I can finish them tonight for us to enjoy at work tomorrow!
P.S. Are they not the cutest little creatures?! I completely adore them.

Day 879
Today, I led a group of 15 people on my second trip! We headed to Cincinnati for the Reds vs. Cubs game preceded by a tour of the Reds Hall of Fame & Museum. It was a long day, but a beautiful one. We could not have asked for better seats (shaded!) or weather (gorgeous!).

Day 878
Back to School Party tonight at the Newton residence!
...and then I found 5 bucks! I seriously did, today at work, in the middle of the parking lot. Pretty cool!
I'm hoping for great weather, good attitudes, and a sudden spark of interest in baseball for tomorrow's work trip. I plan these things, you'd think I'd have more interest in them. :-P I'll learn! All wineries, shopping, culinary education, and European destinations from here on out!!!

Day 877
It's AAA Day at the Indiana State Fair! I'll be there from 4:00 - 11:00 PM today promoting group travel and Sassy Explorers. I think I might get to use some fancy photo tablet thing, too. I can't wait to eat some deep fried cookie dough. YUM!

Day 874
It's so nice to eat a few cookies in the middle of the day and not feel guilty about it. I'm sure I worked them all out a few hours ago in my group exercise class. Victory!
Nothing major has happened, but I'd like to do a prayer request. Please keep all of my friends and family (as well as your own) and their health in your prayers. I have a few friends and relatives that could use some help. Thanks!

Day 873
I had some fantastic company as I unexpectedly attended the WTTS 20th Anniversary "The Last Summer on Earth" concert at the Lawn at White River State Park. Cracker, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Blues Traveler, and Barenaked Ladies were all there to entertain us ... in addition to the crazy 45-60 year olds. Someone's mom was shakin' it last night, and we were disturbed. I also smelled a good amount "herbal medication." How is it that the 20 somethings were the most responsible of the concert goers? Highlight: "Sexy and I Know It" country/rock/alternative cover by Big Head Todd & the Monster AND hearing BNL do "The Big Bang Theory" theme song!
I love this cover!

Day 872
After my haircut, I decided to swing by and see my grandma since she's in the rehab nursing home on my way home. We took a spin outside and she asked me really blunt, personal questions that only she would and could get away with. Gotta love her.
Later, I joined up with a really fun group of ladies for Jackie's bachelorette party. We had a good Mexican dinner, went to the Legends drag show at Talbott Street, took a cab downtown to chat for awhile at Claddagh, then, naturally, went to Steak 'N Shake. I'd call that a successful night.
Forgive my narcissism, but I was really pumped about my hair. Amber, my amazing stylist, did it up right since she knew I was going out.

Day 868
I went to Pearl Street tonight for the first time for Devour Downtown. It was a pretty good deal if you ask me: two cocktails (local beers on draft + good cosmos) + one appetizer (the cheesy bread was practically enough to fill you up and be happy) + one pizza (ANY pizza and as many toppings as you'd like). Anything over $30 they'd just knock off. Wowza! With two of us eating there, I still came home with three large slices of pizza. We did half BBQ chicken and half margarita, and I can tell you for fact that their BBQ chicken is now one of my top 3 favorites. Yum!

Day 867
I got a taste of the "good ol' days" since my side of the street didn't have electricity for a day. IT WAS HOT. We were all bored out of our minds. Naturally, this occurs when my house is reaaaally clean (doesn't really take power to do all of the cleaning). We mostly sat outside in the shade, talked, then decided to head to Greenwood for dinner and to see Grandma at the rehab nursing home. Felt like a total redneck out on the sidewalk cutting her hair with regular scissors since she refuses to pay $10 for someone else to cut her hair. If you know her at all, you know this is completely normal behavior for her. Afterwards, she threw her wig back on and I ran her around the parking lot in her wheelchair since she wanted to get some fresh air. It was fun. :)

Day 865
FYI for my Indy friends: Hotcakes on the south side is pretty tasty. They offer a 1 or 1 1/2 egg omelette + 1 pancake + hash browns; perfect for those of us that aren't training for and/or competing in the Olympics! Also, I went to the Claddagh Irish Pub in Plainfield (Metropolis) and had the Meatloaf Melt sandwich. Unexpectedly tasty! Try it out sometime.
